As a contribution to the national, regional and global understanding of the impact of COVID-19 on our already stressed society, SPII has produced a quarterly analysis of the critical unemployment figures, trends and trajectories from the last quarter of the Labour Force Survey to report before the impact of COVID- 19 would have had a significant impact.

This collection spans a selection of the research that PLAAS as an independent Policy Research Institute within the Faculty for Economic and Management Sciences at the University of the Western Cape have produced and contributed to. PLAAS focuses on research, policy engagement, teaching and training about chronic poverty, economic marginalisation and structural inequality in Southern Africa. Their research concentrates on the role of land, agriculture, and natural resources in the livelihoods of marginalised and vulnerable people.

This was an evaluation undertaken independently by the Public Service Commission (PSC) with cooperation of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) on the Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme that is one of the programmes under the Comprehensive Rural Development Programme (CASP).

The formulation of this policy forms part of Government's commitment to implement a Land Redistribution Programme that seeks to address historical exclusion, inequitable access to land, insufficient participation in the agrarian economy and household food insecurity.
